I hate people when they’re not polite

"Stop Making Sense" has always played a significant role throughout my life, but last month’s theater viewing took my connection to a whole new level. I've watched it countless times on streaming and own the DVD, but experiencing it in a theater was like discovering a new dimension.

From seeing David Byrne live multiple times, (three of them being his recent "American Utopia"), to witnessing the Tom Tom Club on stage at the Hoboken Arts and Music Festival many years ago – I am forever in awe of their artistry and creativity as a collective and as individuals.

I devoured Chris Frantz's memoir and am eagerly awaiting Tina Weymouth's – she's simply the coolest – and Jerry Harrison is on my list because I have yet to see him live.

The Talking Heads are more than musicians; they're incredible storytellers, crafting a unique blend of sounds, cultures, and words – a creative ethos I carry into my own work. No detail goes unaccounted for. And what I love the most is that they are first and foremost a bunch of art school kids who never stopped experimenting.✨

Happy 40th Anniversary, Stop Making Sense 💡
