Ode to Jane

One year ago, I quit my fulltime, corporate job. I had a very loose plan, but nothing in place. My first step was joining the Jane Club to have community to connect with, be inspired by and seek out advice. The unwavering support in the tight-knit community is so crucial, especially as a solopreneur.

As a member of the Jane Club for the past year, I've witnessed the incredible power of a community that embraces you just as you are. Even when I am not actively engaged, just peaking at the Slack community and knowing there is someone there creates such a sense of structure. The inclusivity and camaraderie are what all communities should strive for too.

Navigating through the twists and turns of career shifts and the early stages of entrepreneurship is a rollercoaster ride. Jane Club became my anchor, providing virtual programs and regular conversation. It's like having a fan club that's always there, no matter what challenges arise.

Over the course of the year I launched my own venture, Mirth & Joy. This business is my passion personified, and if you are so inclined you can follow along here linkedin.com/company/mirthandjoy. Thanks to the Jane Club, I received advice on banking (I love Lili), website builders (Squarespace has been a gamechanger after struggling with other platforms), gained some early followers to my instagram (@mirthandjoy), and even travel tips for my downtime. They also helped me decide between the Dyson Airwrap and the Shark FlexStyle - truly invaluable!

Looking back at the past year – from finally saying goodbye to my desk job to embracing entrepreneurship – I'm filled with immense gratitude for the growth, empowerment, and connections the Jane Club has provided. This community is more than a network; it's a powerful force that uplifts women like me.

So, if you're seeking a community that supports you in whatever adventure you are currently facing, I highly encourage you to give the Jane Club a peak. (and ps - if you experienced a layoff and are discouraged by membership fees, reach out to them because they make sure the community is accessible to all)
